 MP3 is short for M PEG Audio Layer 3 and r efers to an audio compr ess ion technology standard.
 This product allows playback of MP3 files on CD-ROM, CD-R or CD-RW discs.
 The unit can rea d MP3 files writ ten in the forma t compliant wit h ISO 966 0. However it does not supp ort the MP 3
data written by the method of p acket write.
 The unit can not read an MP3 file that has a file extension other than “.mp3”.
 If you play a non- MP3 fi le that has the “.mp3 ” ex tension, you may hear some noise.
 In this manual, we refer to what ar e called “MP3 fi le” and “folder” in P C terminology as “tr ack” and “albu m”,
respectively.
 Maximum number of director y level is 8, including t he root dir ector y. Ma ximum number of files a nd folders p er disc
is 256.
 The unit may not play tr acks in the order of Tr a ck numbers.
 The unit plays only the au dio tracks if a disc c ont ains both audio tra cks and MP3 files.
 When playing a disc of 8 kbps or “ VBR”, t he elap sed pla ying t ime in the displa y window will not be correct a nd a lso
the intro play may not funct ion properly. “VBR”: Va riable Bit Rate.
Notes on creating your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs containing MP3 files
 To enjoy high quality sound, we recommend converting to MP3 f iles with a sa mpling frequency of 44 .1 kHz and a
fixed bit rate of 128 kbps.
 Do not store more than 256 MP3 files per disc.
