7TONE SQUELCH OPERATION
The tone squelch opens only when receiving a signal con-
taining a matching subaudible tone in FM mode. For exam-
ple, you can silently wait for calls from group members using
the same tone in an amateur band.
DUsing the multi-function receiver screen
qClick the [FM] button to select FM mode.
wClick the [T-SQL] button to bring up the [T ONE SQ UELCH]
dialog box.
•“T-SQL”appears in the function display.
eClick the [$] button, then select the desired tone squelch
frequency.
•Fifty-one tone frequencies from 67.0 to 254.1 Hz are available.
rClick the close (["]) button to close the [TONE SQUELCH]
dialog box.
tWhen the received signal includes a matching tone,
squelch opens and the signal can be heard.
•When the received signal’s tone does not match, tone squelch
does not open, however, the S-indicator shows signal strength.
yClick the [T-SQL] button to cancel the tone squelch.
•“T-SQL”disappears.

qClick [MENU] and select the ‘Function Controller’when it
is not displayed.
wClick the [FM] button in the function controller screen to se -
lect FM mode.
eClick the [TSQL] button to bring up the [TONE SQUELCH]
dialog box.
•“T-SQL”and tone squelch frequency appear in the infor mation
display.
rClick the [$] button, then select the desired tone squelch
frequency.
