Plumbing & Electrical Requirements

Plumbing: Be sure that any plumbing connections conform to your applicable local codes. The water supply line pressure should be at least 30 psi (pounds per square inch). Low water pressure can cause water to drip from the spout.

Electrical: The hot water tank should have power supplied to it at all times. It should not be controlled by the same wall switch that operates your disposer. If the outlet supplying power is controlled by a switch and also supplies power to another appliance (such as your food waste disposer), the In-Sink-Erator SinkTopSwitch can be used to avoid electrical wiring changes.

The SinkTopSwitch conveniently switches power between two electrical outlets, which allows the hot water dispenser and food waste disposer to be connected to the same electrical outlet. Consult your local plumbing supplier for more information, or visit www.insinkerator.com.
