The Star Pilot usesGPSsatellitesignalsto calculatea cuffent

positionin LatitudeandLongitudeThis. positionis displayedin large,easyto readdigitsin thc centerpartof thedisplay.

The lowerleft partof thedisplay.abovethesoftkeylabels,provides SpeedOverGroundandCourseOverGroundreadingThese.terms areabbreviatedas SOG andCOG. Pleasereferto the Advanced NavigationGuide.Page21 fbr moredetails.

The lowerright partof thedisplay,abovethesofikeylabels,shows you thealtitudeandthesatellitereceivingstatus3D. or 2D display nreansyour presentpositionis current.OLD displaymeansno positionfixesarebeingupdatedSee.Page2l of the Advanced NavigationGuidefor moredetails.

Notethatthealtitudewill only be displayedif theStarpilot hasfixes on fbur satellitesandis operatingin 3D mode.The altitudeaccuracy will fluctuateplusor minus-50metcrs.which is thenormaltolerance fbr GPSaltitudespecifications.

SavingPresentPositionIn A Waypoint

If you wishto savethecunentpositionviewedon thePositionScreen in a waypoint.pressthesofikeyunderthelabelSAVE on rhedisplay.

UponpressingtheSAVE key,theSavePresentPositionWindow opensto revealyour WaypointLog. The WaypointLog scrollsto the first emptylocationanddatestampsthepositionThe. displaycursor will identifythis location.

If you havedecidedto savethispositionpress.thesoftkeyunderthe labelENTR on thedisplay.The cursorfbr this waypointlocationwill be shownsolid fbr I secondandthen returnto the previousposition Screen.

After pressingENTR, thewaypointlocationwill be darestampedIf. a secondentry is savedthatday,the datestampwill be followed by a (WP2),etc.SeePage16of the WaypointMode sectionto edit and nilmethewaypointlocations .

NOTE: If at any time you wish to out of theSavePresent _eet

PositionWindow.pressthe sofikeyunderESCon thedisplay.This will recallthePositionScreenandno chanseswill be madeon the WaypointLog.

Pressingthe softkeylabeledMENU, below the lower left sideof the display,bringsthe Star Pilot backto rheMenu Screen.
