Replacing the Leg Actuators
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 7.3.
NOTE:Ifthelegsofthepatientliftdonotopenandcloseproperly,itmaybenecessarytoreplaceoneorbothofthelegactuators.
1. Testtheoperationofthelegs:
•Presstheclosebuttononthehandcontroltoclosethelegs.
•Presstheopenbuttononthehandcontroltoopenthelegs.
2. Whileholdingontothemasthandles,carefullytipthepatientliftbackuntilitrestsonthefloor.
NOTE:Itisnecessarytoremovebothsmallbasecoversbeforeremoving thelargebasecover.
3. Removethesixteenscrewsthatattachthesmallbasecoverstothebase.
4. Removetheeightpanheadscrewsthatattachthelargebasecovertothebase.
NOTE:Iftheleftortherightlegofthepatientliftdoesnotoperateproperly,performthefollowingstepsonthesideofthebasenecessary
toreplacetheactuator.Ifbothlegsdonotoperateproperly,performthisreplacementprocedureonbothsidesofthebase.
5. Locateanddisconnectthelegactuatorleadwires.
NOTE:Theactuatorleadwireswillbevisibleafterthelargebasecoverisremoved.
6. Removethesocketheadscrewandwasherthatattachthelegactuatortothebase.
7. Attheotherendoftheactuator,removethesocketheadscrewandnutthatattachthelegactuatortothelegbracket.
8. Ifnecessary,repeatSTEPS57ontheoppositesideofthebasetoremovetheotherlegactuator.
9. Toreplacetheactuator(s),reverseSTEPS57.
