Replacing Rear Wheel Handrim
WARNING
Wheelchairs with 300 lbs weight limit: DO NOT use composite handrims. Otherwise injury or damage may occur.
If the wheelchair is equipped with permanent axles, this procedure MUST be performed by a qualified technician.
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 7.2.
1.Remove the rear wheel from the wheelchair. Refer to Removing/Installing Rear Wheels on page 30.
2.Remove the mounting screws that secure the handrim to the rear wheel.
3.Remove the existing handrim.
4.Install the new handrim by reversing the preceding steps.

5.Reinstall rear wheel to the wheelchair. Refer to Removing/Installing Rear Wheels on page 30.
6.Repeat STEPS 1‐5 for the opposite rear wheel if necessary.

CAUTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks and wear, and should be replaced if damaged.
