5 Maintenance
EAfter the set amount of water has flowed through the external
filter cartridge, it will cease to work. Your GIGA will automati-
cally prompt you to change the filter.
Example:Proceed as follows to change the filter when prompted to
do so.
Precondition:‘Change the filter’ and the symbol c are displayed.
T Change the external filter cartridge as described in the
instructions for the cartridge.
O T Press the P button.
‘Maintenance status (1/5)’
T Press the ‘Change the filter’ button.
‘Change the filter’/ ‘Do you really want to reset the filter
capacity?’
T Press the ‘Yes’ button
‘Change the filter’/ ‘Filter capacity has been reset.’
‘Please select product:’ appears on the display.
After 220preparations or 80switch-on rinses, the GIGA will prompt
you to clean it.
If the wrong cleaning agent is used, the machine could be damaged
and/or traces could be left behind in the water.
T Use only original JURA maintenance products.
EThe cleaning programme lasts approximately 20 minutes.
EDo not interrupt the cleaning programme. The quality of
cleaning will be impaired if you do so.
EJURA cleaning tablets are available from specialised dealers.
Example:Proceed as follows to clean when prompted to do so.
Precondition:‘Clean machine.’ and the c symbol are displayed.
O T Press the P button.
‘Maintenance status (1/5)’
T Press the ‘Clean’ button.
T Press the ‘Start’ button.
T Press the ‘Start’ button again.
‘Empty coffee grounds container.’
