Inserting and activating the filter
1 Preparing and using for the first time
Your IMPRESSA no longer has to be descaled if you are using the CLARIS Blue filter cartridge.
EPerform the ‘inserting the filter’ operation without any inter- ruptions. This will ensure that your IMPRESSA always produces its best.
Precondition: COFFEE READY is displayed.
kT Press and hold the Rotary Switch until MAINTENANCE appears on the display.
gT Turn the Rotary Switch until FILTER is displayed.
k T Press the Rotary Switch to enter the programme item.
FILTER NO
gT Turn the Rotary Switch until FILTER YES is displayed.
k T Press the Rotary Switch to confirm the setting. CONFIRMED appears briefly on the display.
INSERT FILTER / PRESS BUTTON, the Mainte- nance button c lights up.
T Remove the filter cartridge extension from the Welcome Pack.
T Fit the filter extension on top of a CLARIS Blue filter car- tridge.
T Remove and empty the water tank.
T Open the filter holder and insert the filter cartridge into the water tank, exerting slight pressure.
T Close the filter holder. It will click into place audibly.
EAfter two months, the filter will cease to work. You can check the elapsed time by referring to the date plate on the filter holder in the water tank.
T Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and reinsert the tank.
T Place a receptacle (at least 500 ml) under the cappuccino frother.
cT Press the Maintenance button.
FILTER RINS.. Water flows out of the cappuccino frother.
