By connecting the player’s DIGITAL OUT (coaxial or optical) with the digital input of an amplifier, DAT or MD using a digital cable, the digital stereo audio signal in a disc is directly transferred.

Note: • Before actual usage, set “DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT” in the “PREFERENCE” display to “PCM ONLY,” otherwise, playing back a Dolby Digital encoded DVD may generate noise and, in the worse case, damage your speakers. See “Preference via "PREFERENCE" on-screen display” on pages 53.

•Set “DOWN MIX” setting in the DVD on-screen display to “L0/R0” or “Lt/ Rt”. (See “Down Mix” on page 33.)
