1. Switch the TV on and display video from this system.

Set the TV input to video 1 (or video 2 or 3).

2. Insert the disc.

1 Press *on the center unit to open the disc tray.

Change the playback source to DVD.

With the playback side (non-label side) down.

To insert an 8 cm disc, place it in the inner recess.

3Press 0to close the disc tray.

Playback begins immediately a DVD auto-playback disc is inserted.

3. Play the disc.

From the remote controls:

Press DVD.

Change the playback source to DVD. The remote control enters the DVD mode and playback begins.

Change the playback source to DVD. Playback begins.

*When 0 on the center unit is pressed while on standby, power is automatically turned on and the disc tray ejected.

**When 3 on the center unit is pressed while on standby, power is automatically turned on, and playback begins, if a disc is in the tray.

DVD is selected as the playback source if there is no disc in the tray.

Notes:

The unit can playback DVD VIDEO, Audio CD, and Video CD discs only. Do not load other disc types.

For details about playable disc types, see page 5.

When loading a disc in the tray, be sure to position the disc inside the recess. Otherwise, the disc may be damaged when the tray is closed, and the disc may not be removed form the unit.

Playback begins automatically with some discs.

DVD or video CDs recorded with PBC (playback control), pressing PLAY may display the menu on the TV screen. You may select items from the menu screen thus displayed and call up the locations to be viewed (see pages 24 and 25 for details).

You can also open and close the disc tray from the opening on- screen display.

Use CURSOR 5/to move pointer to ), then press ENTER to open or close the disc tray.

Discs may be played back from the on-screen menu.

Use the CURSOR 5/, move the pointer to #, and press ENTER to begin playback.

To stop playback competely

From the remote controls: Press STOP.

On the front panel: Press 7.
