Basic DVD player operations

Before using the remote control, press DVD to change the remote control operation mode.

Turn on your TV and select the correct input mode on the TV before turning on the system.

5Activate preferred Surround or DSP mode.

From the remote control ONLY:

Press SURROUND or DSP.

Set the remote control mode selector to “DVD.”

On the center unit: Press 7.

To eject the loaded disc

Press 0 on the center unit.

To stop the playback temporarily

From the remote control: Press PAUSE.

On the center unit: Press 8.

Pressing PLAY or 3 on the center unit starts playback again.

To move back the playback by 10 seconds (DVD only)— one touch replay

From the remote control ONLY: Press O.T. REPLAY.

The previous 10-second picture is replayed.

NOTES:

One touch replay works between chapters in the same title.

One touch replay may not work for some DVDs.

To fast-forward (or fast-reverse) the playback

From the remote control: Press ¡ (or 1).

Each time you press the button, fast-forward (or fast-reverse) speed changes as follow:

1Press 0 on the center unit.

The system turns on and the disc tray comes out. The STANDBY lamp goes off.

To change the subtitle or audio language, see page 41.

2Load a disc onto the disc tray with the label side up.

If you press and hold the button, fast-forward (or fast-reverse) speed changes as follow:

• Releasing ¢ (or 4) resumes normal play.

 

NOTES:

No sound comes out while fast-forwarding (or fast-reversing) a

 

DVD, VCD or SVCD.

This function is not available for some DVDs.

To locate the beginning of the particular chapter or track

Chapter on DVD :During playback

Track on VCD/SVCD:During playback with the PBC function deactivated or while stopped

Track on Audio CD :During playback or while stopped

The disc tray closes and the system starts playing back the loaded disc.

You can also close the disc tray by pressing 0 on the center unit.
