Audio adjustments

Audio adjustments

You can adjust sound to your preference according your listening conditions or sources.

You can also adjust sound using the choice menu except “AUDIO POS” and “B.BOOST” (see page 58).

Operating procedure

Before you start, remember...

There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the setting is

canceled before you finish, start from step 1 again.

From the remote control ONLY:

Setting the dynamic range

You can reinforce the bass sound if bass sounds are not sufficient.

Select one of the following settings:

1:Select when you want to reduce the dynamic range a little.

2:Select when you want to apply the compression effect fully (useful at night).

Set the remote control mode selector to “DVD.”

OFF :Select when you want to enjoy surround with its full dynamic range (no effect applied).

Reinforcing the bass sound

—B (bass).BOOST

You can activate or deactivate the bass boost.

1Press SETTING/ADJUST twice.

“ADJUST” appears on the display.

Each time you press SETTING/ADJUST, the function for the button changes as follow.

2Press Cursor /5 repeatedly to select the item you want to adjust while “ADJUST” appears on the display.

Each time you press the button, the item shown on the display changes as follow:

(back to the beginning)

3Press Cursor 3/2 repeatedly to select the appropriate setting for the item.

Your adjustment is stored.

Adjusting the tone—BASS, TREBLE

You can adjust the bass and treble sounds as you like.

Adjust the bass or treble level of the front channel signal in 2 step intervals.

• Adjustable range: “10” to “10.”

Setting the level of the low frequency effect attenuator

—LFE ATT.

The Low Frequency Effect attenuator diminishes the distortion of the bass sound from the subwoofer when playing back Dolby Digital or DTS Digital Surround software.

Turn ON or OFF the LFE attenuator:

ON (10 dB) :Select to diminish the distortion of the bass sound from the subwoofer.

OFF (0 dB) :Select to cancel this function.

When bass boost is turned on, the BASS indicator lights up on the display.

Turn ON or OFF bass boost.

ON

:Select when activating bass boost.

OFF

:Select when deactivating bass boost.

 

 

Setting the subwoofer audio

position—AUDIO POS (position)

You may feel subwoofer is reinforced when listening stereo sound.

If this is the case, you can automatically change the subwoofer level properly when listening stereo sound.

• To adjust the subwoofer level, see page 18.

Select the automatic adjustment level from "0" to "6" (in 2 step intervals):

If no adjustment is required, select "0." The smaller the number becomes, the more the level decreases automatically when listening in stereo.

Adjusting the front speakers

balance—BAL (balance)

If the sounds through the front speakers are not well- balanced, adjust the front speaker output balance.

Adjust the front speakers’ output balance within the range of “R 21” to “L 21.”

“R 21”: no sound comes out of the right speaker.

“L 21”: no sound comes out of the left speaker.

“CENTER”: output levels of both speakers are identical.
