ON INSTALLATIONS NOT MADE BY SEARS AUTHORIZED CONTRACTORS:

1.YourSearswarranty appliesto the product only.

2.Searsdoesnot warrant the installation.

3.A charge will be made on service calls due to poor or incomplete installation. These indude:

a.Adjustingthermostat.

b.Lighting pilot.

c.Leaksin pipes or fittings.

d.Improper venting

e.Condensation

This manual is in non:technical language. It may help you avoid the cost of a needlessservicecall. Manyservice callsreallyarent needed. Such aswhen:

1.The gas is turned "OFF".

2.The pilot is out.

3.A gas orwater leak is due to loosepipe orconnections.

LIMITED WARRANTY ON TANKS THAT LEAK

Through ten (10) years from the date of purchase, ifa leak occurs in the tank, Sears will furnish, free of charge, a new current model water heater of closest available capacity and quality. If purchaser does not qualify for free installation as provided in the One Year Limited Labor Warranty below, there x¢lllbe a charge for installation.

If the replacement water heater ofdosest availablecapacity and quality does not meet current applicable government standards, there will be

a charge for the difference in price between the replacement which does not meet government standards and one which does meet govern- ment standards

If the water heater is subjected to commercial, institutional, or industrial use or use in residences of two families or more, the abovewarranty coverage for tanks that leak is effective for two years from the date of purchase and the Limited Warranty On Parts below is effective for one year from the date of purchase.

LIMITED WARRANTY ON PARTS

Through ten (10) years from the date of purchase,when your SearsKenmorewater heater is installedand operated in accordancewith the

instructions in this manual, if a part fails due to a failurein materialsorworkmanship,Searswill furnish a replacementpart free of charge.

If purchaserdoes not qualifyfor free installation asprovided in the One YearLimitedLaborWarranty below,there will be a chargefor installation.

Install, freeof charge,the replacementwater heater as providedby the aboveLimitedTankLeakWarranty.

Repair,freeof charge, defectsin materialsorwod_nanship of the water heater asprovided by the aboveLimitedWarrantyon Parts.

To obtain warranty service, SIMPLY CALL 1-800-4-MY-HOME (1-800-469-4663). This warranty applies only while this product is in use in the United States.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Sears Installation Warranty Sears Installation Policy

In addition to any warranty extended to you on the Sears merchandise involved, which warranty becomes effective the date the merchandise is installed should the workmanship of any Sears arranged installation prove faulty within one year, Sears will, upon notice from you, cause such faults to be corrected at no additional cost to you. If you want this heater professionally installed by Sears contact your Sears Salesperson. They will arrange for prompt, quality installation.

All installation labor arranged by Sears shall be performed in a neat, workmanlike manner in accordance with generally accepted trade prac- tices. Further, all installations shall comply with all local laws, codes regulations and ordinances. The customer shall also be protected, dur- ing installation, by insurance relating to property damage, Worker's Compensation and Public Liability.
