ATTACHING AN ACCESSORY FLASH UNIT

To extend the versatility of the camera, an accessory flash unit (sold separately) can be used. Always remove the accessory flash when the camera is not in use, and replace the accessory-shoe cap to protect the contacts.

Slide the accessory-shoe cap off as shown. Mount the flash unit on the accessory shoe by sliding it forward until it stops.

The following flash units are compatible with this camera:

Maxxum/Program Flash 2500(D)

Maxxum/Program Flash 3600HS(D)

Maxxum/Program Flash 5600HS(D)

Macro Ring Flash 1200 with Macro Flash Controller

Macro Twin Flash 2400 with Macro Flash Controller

HIGH-SPEED SYNC. (HSS)

This camera is compatible with the High Speed Sync. (HSS) function in the Program/Maxxum Flash 5600HS(D) and 3600HS(D). This allows the camera to use its full range of shutter speeds up to 1/4000 second. HSS cannot be used with the 2-second self-timer drive mode nor the rear sync. flash mode.

Attach a compatible flash unit to the camera. Set the flash

unit to HSS. When the shutter speed exceeds the camera sync. speed, the High Speed Sync. indicator (H) is High Speed Sync. indicator

displayed on the monitor and in the viewfinder.
