Legatomeansplayingnotessothattheyaresmoothand
connected;thenextnoteisplayedbeforethelastnoteis
released.Thisistheoppositeofplayingdetached.
On:Whenyouplayalegatophrase,onlythefirstnoteof
thatphrase(andothernotesplayedwithin30msecofthat
note)willusethemultisamplestartpointspecifiedby“Start
Offset”(page26);subsequentnoteswillusethelegatostart
pointspecifiedbyeachmultisample.
Thisisausefulwaytosimulatethepercussiveattackofa
tonewheeltypeorgan.
Off:Noteswillalwaysusethesettingofthe“StartOffset,”
regardlessofwhetheryouplaylegatoordetached.
WithsomeMultisamples,PolyLegatomaynothave
anyeffect.

Mono Mode [Normal, Use Legato Offset]
ThisparameterisavailableonlywhenMonoLegatoisOn.
Normal:Whenyouplaylegato,themultisample,envelopes,
andLFOswillnotbereset;onlythepitchoftheoscillator
willchange.Thissettingisparticularlyeffectiveforwind
instrumentsandanalogsynthsounds.
Withthisoption,thepitchmayoccasionallybeincor
rect,dependingonwhichmultisampleyouplay,and
whereonthekeyboardyouplay.
UseLegatoOffset:Whenyouplaylegato,thesecondand
subsequentnoteswillusethelegatostartpointspecifiedfor
eachmultisample,ratherthanthe“StartOffset”(page26)
setting.
Thisiseffectivewhenusedwithamultisampleforwhich
you’veassignedaspecificlegatooffsetpoint.Forexample,
youmightuseittocontroltheattackofabreathy,slow
attacksaxsound.Onsomemultisamples,thiswillhaveno
effect.
