When a jam occurs, a message indicating the jam location appears. Open doors and covers, and remove trays to access jam locations.

To access the jam

1Open the front door, and then remove any jams.

2Open the fuser cover, and then remove any jams.

3Close the fuser cover.

4Close the front door.

5Pull out Tray 1, and then remove any jams.

6Reinsert Tray 1.

1Pull the 550-sheet tray out, and then remove any jams.

2Reinsert the tray.

1Press the release latch to the left to release the multipurpose feeder.

2Inspect the multipurpose feeder, and then remove any jams.

3Close the multipurpose feeder.
