If test results fall outside the range printed on the test strip vial, repeat the test. Out-
•Error in performing the test.
•Failure to shake the control solution vial vigorously.
•Expired or contaminated control solu- tion.
•Control solution that is too warm or too cool.
•Failure to discard the first drop of con- trol solution.
•Improper coding of the meter.
•Test strip deterioration.
•Meter malfunction.
