Black Level

Adjust Black Level to brighten the DVD and Video CD picture
during playback.
1During DVD or Video CD play,press MODE so
the Black Level icon shows on the TV screen.
2Within 10 seconds,press ENTER repeatedly to
choose ON or OFF.ON brightens the dark parts of
the picture.OFF shows the original picture as recorded.

Virtual Surround

You can enjoy improved stereo sound when you play DVDs,
Audio CDs,Video CDs,or MP3 files recorded in Dolby Digital
or Pulse Code Modulation (PCM). Check the Disc case for
details on availability.
1During Disc play,press MODE so the Virtual
Surround icon appears on the TV screen.
2While the Virtual Surround icon appears,press
ENTER to choose 1,2, or OFF. The default setting
is OFF.The icon will disappear after about 10 seconds.
• Virtual Surround is available only if
you set Stereo Sound to Stereo.
Details are on page 64.
• Virtual Surround and Black Level
settings will be saved even if the
TV/VCR/DVD is turned off.

Initializing

You can return all the DVD Player’s Setup menu items (except
for PARENTAL) to their default settings.
Before you begin,press SELECT to put the
TV/VCR/DVD in DVD mode.The green DVD light will
appear on the front of the unit.
1While play is stopped,press SETUP twice. The
QUICK SETUP screen appears.
