Time Search
Time Search lets you rewind or fast forward a tape to a posi-
tion by entering the amount of playback time you want to skip.
1When a tape is in the TV/VCR,press TIME
SEARCH. (You also can access TIME SEARCH in the
main menu.Select TIME SEARCH,then press
F.FWD/B.)
2Press PLAY/▲or STOP/▼until your length of
time appears (for example,2:50 for 2 hours, 50 min-
utes).Each press changes the time by 10 minutes.
To cancel the Time Search at this point,press MENU.
3Press REW/sor F.FWD/B.The TV/VCR will
rewind or fast forward the tape by the specified
amount of time.The time counts down on the screen
as the search progresses.When 0:00 is reached,the
tape will start playback automatically.
Or,to cancel the time search before it finishes, press
STOP/▼.
•Time Search can be set up to a
maximum of 9 hours 50 minutes
(9:50) in 10-minute increments.
•Time Search is not available dur-
ing recording.

Zero Return
Set the counter to zero at a location you want to reach later.
1Play,rewind,or fast forward the tape to the location
you would like to refer to later.Press STOP/▼to
stop the tape.
2Press RESET repeatedly to set the counter to
0:00:00.
3When you later want to return to this point,
press MENU.Press PLAY/▲or STOP/▼to
select ZERO RETURN.Then,press F.FWD/B.
The counter will appear on the screen briefly.When the
counter reaches zero,the tape will stop. Press PLAY/▲
to watch the tape.
