7Select the desired screen format with Bor A. This setting

only functions if you have inserted a DVD recorded in this

format.

Which screen formats can I choose?

4:3 letterbox fora wide-screen display (theatrical format)with black

barsat the top and bottom of the picture.

4:3 panscan fora full-height picture with the sidestrimmed to fill you

TVscreen.

16:9 forwide-screen TV (16:9) aspect ratio ?

8Confirm by pressing OK.

After you connect the antenna (or cable TV signal, satellite

receiver, etc.) to the DVD recorder, press OK

Make sure the Cable TV signal is connected securely to the

Antenna jack on the rear of the DVD Recorder.

The automatic TV channel search starts. 'WAIT' will appear on the

display.

aDuring the channel search, if the DVD recorder does not find

any TV channels:

bSelect another channel on the TV. Do you see that channel on the TV

set?

If not, check the connections between the DVD recorder and the TV.

bPlease have patience.

The DVD recorder searches the entire frequency range in order to

find and save the largest possible number of TV channels. It is possible

that the TV channels in your country are broadcast in a higher

frequency range. As soon as this range is reached during the search,

the DVD recorder will find the TV channels.

bIf no antenna is connected, complete the basic settings and then, if

desired, start the automatic channel search (see section 'Automatic TV

channel search').

aThe DVD recorder finds very few/no channels during the

search.

bIt is possible that the automatic switching between antenna/cable does

not properly detect your TV signal. Read the section about how to

switch manually. Problem
