The following instructions relate only to basic preparation and loading of glassware. There are additional requirements for particular applications.
Loading the machine
Remove debris
^Empty all glassware before loading into the machine.
Ensure that no acid or solvent residues, especially hydrochloric acid or chlorides, get into the wash cabinet.
^Remove all agar residue from petri dishes.
^Remove blood clots and residue from test tubes, etc.
^Remove all stoppers, corks, labels, sealing wax residue, etc.
Note
^Load items so that water will cover all surfaces. This ensures that they will be properly cleaned.
^Do not place items to be cleaned inside of other pieces, where they may be concealed.
^Hollow vessels, such as beakers, graduated cylinders, flasks, etc., should be inverted and placed in the correct inserts to ensure proper cleaning. A cover net can be used to reduce the risk of glass breakage during the wash process.
^Petri dishes and similar items should be placed in the correct insert with the soiled side facing center.
^Pipettes should be placed with the narrow end pointing down.
^
^Tall, narrow pieces should be placed in the center of the basket for best water coverage.
^The spray arms must not be blocked by items that are too tall or hang through baskets. Check clearance by manually rotating the spray arms.
