Trouble

Remedy

Engine suddenly stops.

Close engine access door. Engine access door switch LS1 prevents engine from starting or running if

door is open

Check oil and coolant levels. Automatic shutdown system stops engine if oil pressure is too low or

coolant temperature is too high (see Section 5-6).

Circuit breaker CB1 may be open. CB1 automatically resets when fault is corrected (see Section 8-9).

Reset supplementary protector CB2 (see Section 8-9). Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check

engine alternator, engine harness, fuel pump, and engine governor system.

Check engine speed, and have Factory Authorized Service Agent adjust if necessary. Overspeed

shutdown automatically stops engine if speed is too high. The overspeed shutdown system resets

when the engine is restarted.

An overspeed condition can also occur if the engine draws fuel-rich air from the surrounding atmo-

sphere (oil refineries).

Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check Engine Control switch S1, control relay CR1, inte-

grated rectifier SR2, fuel pump, and engine governor system.

See engine manual.

restarted.

Check engine air and fuel filters (see Sections 8-5and 8-8).

See engine manual.

Battery discharges between uses.

Turn Engine Control switch off when unit is not running.

Clean top of battery with baking soda and water solution; rinse with clear water.

Recharge or replace battery if necessary.

Periodically recharge battery (approximately every 3 months).

wetstacking occurs.
