Error Codes

A sequence of LED flashes communicates errors when errors occur. The errors associated flash sequences, causes, and remedies are:

E 03	Repeating series of three	DRAM error	Not used at this time

E 04 Repeating series of four MESSAGES LED flashes, separated by a pause

E 07 Repeating series of seven MESSAGES LED flashes, separated by a pause

E 08 Repeating series of eight MESSAGES LED flashes, separated by a pause

E 09 Repeating series of nine MESSAGES LED flashes, separated by a pause

E 10 POWER LED flashes on and off; MESSAGES LED remains off

DP-SRAM error

ROM verification failure

Faulty RAM, ROM, EEPROM, or POST failure (this is a hardware failure)

Dead battery or the memory has not been initialized; occurs if the battery fails to keep the RAM alive during power-down; causes set-top to be disconnected

Invalid serial number

Not used at this time

Power cycle the set-top; if repetitive, return for repair

Return the set-top for repair

Return the set-top for repair; requires factory initialization message

Not used at this time

E 11	POWER LED flashes once;	Invalid unit address	Return the set-top for

	MESSAGES LED flashes four times		repetitive, return for repair
E 15	POWER LED flashes once;	TSI structure is corrupted	Power cycle the set-top; if
	MESSAGES LED flashes five times		repetitive, return for repair
E 16	POWER LED flashes once;	Bad flash number specified for	Error logged, ignore
	MESSAGES LED flashes six times	Initiate Flash Platform
E 17	POWER LED flashes once;	Bad platform validation	Error logged, ignore
	MESSAGES LED flashes seven	step number
	times
