Covert Mode

Your radio is capable of Covert Mode. During covert mode, all keypad and programmed button access are blocked. When enabled, all visual indications (display, LED's and backlight) are disabled.

This feature allows audio or tone only via a wired accessory or a Bluetooth accessory.

Entering Covert Mode

Procedure:

Press the cbutton and the 2, 5 and 8 numeric keys in tandem in home screen.

Exiting Covert Mode

Procedure:

1Press the cbutton and the 2, 5 and 8 numeric keys in tandem. Radio will go back to normal mode.

OR

Power cycle the radio via the On/Off button to exit Covert Mode.

Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF)

The Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) feature allows the radio to operate in a radio system with an interface to telephone systems.

Procedure:

To initiate a DTMF call.

1Press and hold the PTT button.

2Enter the desired number, * or #.

You can turn off the DTMF tone by disabling all radio tones and alerts (see Turning the Radio Tones/Alerts On or Off on page 82).
