OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The on-off switch is located on the back of the unit at the top left corner on models GDS60 and GS60.

NOTE: The upper firebox baffle of your new cast stove has intentionally been left unpainted. Its shiny appear- ance will quickly transform to a dull black finish during the curing process.

When lit for the first time, the fireplace will emit a slight odour for a few hours. This is a normal temporary condi- tion caused by the curing of the logs and the "burn-in" of internal paints and lubricants used in the manufacturing process and will not occur again. Simply open a window to sufficiently ventilate the room. After extended periods of non-operation such as following a vacation or a warm weather season, the fireplace may emit a slight odour for a few hours. This is caused by dust particles in the heat exchanger burning off. Open a window to sufficiently ven- tilate the room.
