5. Check the cable installation, making sure the connectors are securely
fastenedat both ends.
6. Poweron the SCXI chassis.
7. Poweron the computer.
8. Ifyou have already installed the appropriate software, you are ready to
configurethe SCXI-119X. If you have not installed the appropriate
software,refer to the Installing the Sof tware section.
Connecting the SCXI-119Xto a DAQ Device in a PXICombination ChassisToconnect the SCXI-119Xto a DAQ device in a PXI combination chassis,
such ast heP XI-1010 or PXI-1011, you need the following items:
•PXI combination chassis with the SCXI modules installed
•National Instruments PXI MIO DAQdevice, or a computer-based
instrument that is capable of controlling SCXI, installed in the right
most slot of the PXI section of the combination chassis
A PXI combination chassiscan use both S CXI and PXI modules at the
same time.Because the connection between the SCXI backplane and the
PXIbackplane is made through a local bus interface to a PXI multifunction
I/Omodule installed inthe right most slot, no externalcabling is needed to
connect one PXI multifunction I/O module to the SCXI bus.
Youshould have already installed your SCXI-119Xmodule and any other
SCXI modules in the chassis according to their installation instructions.
Touse the SCXI-119Xmodule with a DAQ device or computer-based
instrument in a PXI combination chassis, turn on the SCXI chassis.
Consult your PXI chassis documentation, other SCXI module
documentation,and DAQ device or computer-based instrument
documentation for additional instructions and warnings.
