
Features That Can Be Set Using the Multi Selector
Using Macro Mode
When using macro mode, the camera can focus on subjects as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.) from the front of the lens.
This feature is useful when taking
1 Press I(pmacro mode) on the multi selector.
2 Press the multi selector Hor Ito select ON |

•If the kbutton is not pressed within a few seconds,
the selection will be canceled.
3 Use the zoom control to set the zoom ratio to a position where Fand the zoom indicator light in green.
•How close you can be to the subject when shooting depends on the zoom ratio.
At the zoom position where Fand the zoom indicator light in green, the camera can focus on subjects as close as about 10 cm (4 in.) or farther from the lens. At the wide- angle zoom position from G, it can focus on subjects as close as about 1 cm (0.4 in.) or farther from the lens.
BNote on Using the Flash
The flash may be unable to light the entire subject at distances of less than 50 cm (1 ft 8 in.).

In shooting modes such as scene modes that cannot use the Autofocus mode (A58),

•The changed macro mode setting applied in A(auto) mode is saved in the camera’s memory even after the camera is turned off.
