Step 2 Frame a Picture

1Hold the camera steady.

• Keep fingers, hair, the camera strap, and other objects away from the lens, flash, AF assist-illuminator (L26 only), and microphone.

•When taking pictures in portrait (“tall”) orientation, turn the

camera so that the flash is above the lens.

The Basics of Shooting

•When the camera determines the scene mode, the shooting mode icon will change (A 34).

•When the camera detects a human face, that face is framed by a yellow double border (focus area).

•When shooting non-human subjects or when no faces are detected, the camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame. Position the main subject near the center of the frame.
