Shooting Features

You can use the Image mode setting in the shooting menu to select the combination of image size and compression ratio that is used when saving images.

Select the image mode best suited to the manner in which images will be used and the capacity of the internal memory or memory card.

Image Mode Settings (Image Size and Quality)

Description

Q4608×3456P(L26 only)

Images will be higher quality than P. The compression ratio is

approximately 1:4.

 

 

 

h3648×2736P(L25 only)

Images will be higher quality than i. The compression ratio is

approximately 1:4.

 

 

 

P4608×34562 (L26 only)

 

i3648×27362 (L25 only)

Best choice in most situations. The compression ratio is

R3264×2448

approximately 1:8.

 

 

r2272×1704

 

 

 

q1600×1200

Smaller size than P, i, R, or rand therefore allows more

images to be saved. The compression ratio is approximately 1:8.

 

 

 

O640×480

Suited to full-screen display on a TV with an aspect ratio of 4:3, or

distribution by e-mail. The compression ratio is approximately 1:8.

 

 

 

l4608×2592 (L26 only)

Images with an aspect ratio of 16:9 are saved. The compression

ratio is approximately 1:8.

Example: P4608×3456 = approx. 16 megapixels, 4608 × 3456 pixels

60 2 P4608×3456 is the default setting for L26. i3648×2736 is the default setting for L25.
