Selecting Scenes for Shooting (Scene Mode)

Shooting in the Scene Selected by the Camera (Scene Auto Selector)

By simply framing a picture, the camera automatically selects the optimum scene mode from the following for simpler shooting.

• d: Auto mode (general shooting)

g: Night landscape

e: Portrait

• i: Close-up

f: Landscape

j: Backlighting

h: Night portrait

1Rotate the mode dial to y.

2Press the dbutton to display the scene menu, choose x Scene

auto selector with the rotary multi selector and press the k button.

Scene auto selector is enabled.

When the flash is not raised, the message The flash is lowered. is displayed.

Slide the K(flash pop-up) control to raise the flash.

3Frame the subject and take the picture.

The shooting mode icon changes.

Press the shutter-release button halfway to set the focus and exposure. When the subject is in focus, the focus area (active focus area) lights in green.
