Step 3 Focus and Shoot

1 Press the shutter-release button halfway.

The camera focuses when the shutter-release button is

pressed halfway (A13).

Camera automatically selects the focus area (up to nine areas) containing the subject closest to the camera. When the subject is in focus, the focus area (active focus area) glows green.

Shutter speed Aperture

When using digital zoom, the camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame, and the focus area is not displayed. When the subject is in focus, the focus indicator (A6) glows green.

Press the shutter-release button halfway to display the shutter speed and aperture.

Focus and exposure remain locked while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.

When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway and the camera is unable to focus, the focus area or focus indicator blinks red. Change the composition and press the shutter-release button halfway again.

2 Press the shutter-release button the rest of the way down.

The shutter will be released and the picture will be

recorded to the memory card or internal memory.
