Best Shot Selector

When the "Best Shot Selector" (BSS) is on, the cam- era takes pictures as long as the shutter-release but- ton is held down, to a maximum of ten. These images are then compared and the sharpest picture (the pic- ture with highest level of detail) saved to the memory or memory card. BSS is recommended for situations in which inadvertent camera movement can produce blurred pictures, for example when:

the camera is zoomed in

lighting is poor and the flash can not be used.

Notes on BSS

BSS may not produce the desired results with a moving subject or if you change the composition while the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down.

"Continuous" and BSS

CONTINUOUS is automatically set to Single when BSS is on. Choosing another option for CON- TINUOUS cancels BSS.

The Self-Timer

BSS will not take effect when the self-timer is on, even if On is selected in the BEST SHOT SELEC- TOR menu.

BSS

When BSS is on, a BSS icon appears in the monitor.
