Auto finalization

To use auto finalization, press the FINALIZE button repeatedly during recording until “Auto On” appears. (The FINALIZE indicator appears flashing.) Finalization starts automatically when the DX-R700 is set in the state of “Signal Wait” for 1 minute after interruption of the input signal.

If “Name Disc” appears when you press the FINALIZE button

You cannot use auto finalization. This is because the disc has track names but it has no disc name.

Follow the steps below to finalize.

1.Enter a disc name after recording completes (see page 28).

2.Press the FINALIZE button to finalize the disc (see page 33).

Note:

If “Check Level” flashes and recording does not start, then the recording source was likely already playing and not allowing recording to start. First stop the recording source and then resume operations.

7 Verify that “Signal Wait” is flashing together with the time display and then start the playback of the recording source.

Recording starts as soon as the DX-R700 receives signals from the recording source.

To cancel auto finalization

Press the FINALIZE button repeatedly until “Auto Off” appears. (The FINALIZE indicator disappears.)

Notes on the signal synchronous recording

When the level sync function is turned on during analog recording, the track numbers are updated automatically as soon as audible sound is detected after 2 seconds or more of silence.

If placed in the state of “Signal Wait” for 1 minute, the DX-R700 enters the recording standby state with the signal synchronous recording canceled.

When the auto finalization is turned on, finalization automatically starts.

When “D.In Unlock” appears in the front display during the signal synchronous recording (digital input), the DX-R700 cancels the recording mode and enter to the recording standby state.

When the signal synchronous recording is performed with an Onkyo CD player connected to the DX-R700 using the zterminal, pressing the stop button on the CD player will

not stop the DX-R700, but place it in the “Signal Wait” state.
