With Manual backgroundManual background (Remote Interactive) you can control your Manual backgroundManual background- compatible Onkyo CD player, DVD player, or cassette recorder with the HT-R510’s remote controller, and use the

following special Manual backgroundManual background functions:

Auto Power On

When you turn on an AV component connected via Manual backgroundManual background while the HT-R510 is in Standby, the HT-R510 automatically turns on and selects that AV component as the input source.

This function will not work if the AV component’s power cord is connected to the HT-R510’s AC OUTLET, or if the HT-R510 is already on.

Auto Source Select

When you press the play button on an AV component con- nected via Manual backgroundManual background, the HT-R510 automatically selects that AV component as the input source.

Auto Power Off

When you set the HT-R510 to Standby, all AV components

connected via Manual backgroundManual background also enter Standby.

See page 41 for information on using the remote controller to control the other functions of your Manual backgroundManual background-compatible AV com- ponents.

Connecting Manual backgroundManual background-compatible Components

To use Manual backgroundManual background, you need to connect the HT-R510’s Manual backgroundManual background connector to the Manual backgroundManual background connector on the other AV component with an Manual backgroundManual background

cable. An Manual backgroundManual background cable is supplied with each Manual backgroundManual background-compatible CD player, DVD player, and cassette recorder.

You must make an analog RCA/phono connection between your HT-R510 and the other AV component, even if they are connected digitally.

If an AV component has two Manual backgroundManual background connectors, you can con- nect either one to the HT-R510. The other connector is for connecting additional Manual backgroundManual background-compatible components.

Connect the HT-R510’s Manual backgroundManual background connector to only Onkyo AV components. Connecting to other manufacturer’s AV com- ponents may cause them to malfunction.

Some Onkyo Manual backgroundManual background-compatible AV components may not support the special functions described above.
