Controlling an RI Dock

By pressing the REMOTE MODE button that’s been programmed with the remote control code for your RI Dock, you can control your iPod in the RI Dock with the following buttons.

The [DOCK] REMOTE MODE button is prepro- grammed with the remote control code for controlling an Onkyo DS-A2 RI Dock.

For details on entering a remote control code for an Onkyo DS-A1 RI Dock, see page 92.

Using an RI Dock:

•Connect the RI Dock to the TAPE IN or CBL/SAT IN L/R jacks.

•Set the RI Dock’s RI MODE switch to HDD or HDD/DOCK.

•Set the AV receiver’s Input Display to DOCK (see page 48).

* With somecomponents, certain buttons may not work as expected, and some may not work at all.

AON/STANDBY button

Turns the iPod on or off.

Notes:

•This button does not turn the Onkyo DS-A2 or DS-A2X RI Dock on or off.

•Your iPod may not respond the first time you press this button, in which case you should press it again. This is because the remote controller transmits the On and Standby commands alter- nately, so if your iPod is already on, it will remain on when the remote controller transmits an On command. Similarly, if your iPod is already off, it will remain off when the remote controller trans- mits an Off command.

BTOP MENU button

Works as a Mode button when used with a DS-A2 RI Dock.

C Arrow []/[ ] and ENTER buttons*

Used to navigate menus and select items.

DPrevious [ ] button

Restarts the current song. Press it twice to select the previous song.

ERewind [] button

Press and hold to rewind.

FPause [ ] button

Pauses playback. (With 3rd generation iPod models, it works as a Play/Pause button.)

GREPEAT button*

Used with the repeat function.

HDISPLAY button*

Turns on the backlight for 30 seconds.

IMUTING button (51)

Mutes or unmutes the AV receiver.

JALBUM +/– button*

Selects the next or previous album.

K VOL []/[ ] button (50)

Adjusts the volume of the AV receiver.

LMENU button*

Displays a menu.

MPLAYLIST []/[ ] buttons*

Selects the previous or next playlist on the iPod.

NPlay [ ] button

Starts playback. If the component is off, it will turn on automatically. (With 3rd generation iPod models, this button works as a Play/Pause button.)

ONext [] button

Selects the next song.
