Note

•This function can be set only if the “Subwoofer” setting is set to “Yes”, and the “Front” setting is set to “Large” (➔ page 41).

When an optional unit is connected to the UNIVERSAL PORT jack on the AV receiver, the speaker setting menu may appear on screen.

■Wireless SB (Surround Back)

`Yes:

The audio is output from the speakers connected to the wireless unit.

`No:

The audio is not output from the speakers connected to the wireless unit.

When the wireless unit is connected to the UNIVERSAL PORT jack on the AV receiver, you can select if you wish to output the audio of surround back channel from the speakers connected to the wireless unit.

■Left, Center, Right, Surround Right, Surr Back Right, Surr Back Left, Surround Left, Subwoofer

`Specify the distance from each speaker to your listening position.

Note

•These settings are not available in either of the following cases:

–a pair of headphones is connected.

–the “Audio TV Out” setting is set to “On” (➔ page 48).

–“HDMI Ctrl (RIHD)” is set to “On” (➔ page 48) and you’re listening through your TV speakers.

•Speakers that you set to “No” or “None” in the “Sp Config (Speaker Configuration)” (➔ page 41) cannot be selected.

Level Cal (Level Calibration)

Menu Level Cal

This setting is set automatically by Audyssey 2EQ Room Correction and Speaker Setup (➔ page 28).

Note

•If the “Surround Back” setting is set to “None” (➔ page 41), this setting cannot be selected.

■Wireless SW (Subwoofer)

`Yes:

The audio is output from the subwoofer connected to the wireless unit.

`No:

The audio is not output from the subwoofer connected to the wireless unit.

When the wireless unit is connected to the UNIVERSAL PORT jack on the AV receiver, you can select if you wish to output the audio from the subwoofer connected to the wireless unit.

Note

•If the “Subwoofer” setting is set to “No” (➔ page 41), this setting cannot be selected.

Sp Distance (Speaker Distance)

Here you can adjust the level of each speaker with the built-in test tone so that the volume of each speaker is the same at the listening position.

■Left, Center*1, Right, Surround Right, Surr Back

Right, Surr Back Left, Surround Left

`–12 dB to 0 dB to +12 dB in 1 dB steps.

■Subwoofer*1

`–15 dB to 0 dB to +12 dB in 1 dB steps.

Note

•These settings cannot be calibrated in either of the following cases:

–a pair of headphones is connected.

–the “Audio TV Out” setting is set to “On” (➔ page 48).

–“HDMI Ctrl (RIHD)” is set to “On” (➔ page 48) and you’re listening through your TV speakers.

–the AV receiver is muted.

•Speakers that you set to “No” or “None” in “Sp Config (Speaker Configuration)” (➔ page 41) cannot be selected.

*1 For the center speaker and subwoofer, the level settings made by using Home menu are saved here as the default settings.

Menu Sp Distance Tip

This setting is set automatically by Audyssey 2EQ® Room Correction and Speaker Setup (➔ page 28).

Here you can specify the distance from each speaker to the listening position so that the sound from each speaker arrives at the listener’s ears as the sound designer intended.

■Unit

`feet:

Distances can be set in feet. Range: 1ft to 30ft in 1 foot steps.

`meters:

Distances can be set in meters. Range: 0.3m to 9.0m in 0.3 meter steps.

(The default setting varies from country to country.)

•If you’re using a handheld sound level meter, adjust the level of each speaker so that it reads 75 dB SPL at the listening position, measured with C-weighting and slow reading.
