CONNECTING THE
ANTENNAS
You can use the supplied indoor AM loop antenna and FM dipole antenna for adequate reception in most areas.
Connecting an FM Antenna
The supplied FM antenna is usually adequate for FM reception in metro- politan areas. If FM reception is weak, we recommend you use an outdoor antenna for improved reception. Your local RadioShack store sells outdoor antennas and accessories.
Note: If you install an outdoor anten- na, follow all the instructions in the en- closed “Safety Instructions” sheet and the warnings included with the anten- na. Use
Warning: Use extreme caution when you install or remove an outdoor an- tenna. If the antenna starts to fall, let it go! It could contact overhead power lines. If the antenna touches the pow- er line, contact with the antenna, mast, cable, or guy wires can cause electrocution and death. Call the pow- er company to remove the antenna. DO NOT attempt to remove it yourself.
To connect an FM antenna, hold down
both EXTERNAL ANTENNA FM 300Ω
terminal tabs, insert the stripped ends of the FM antenna’s wires into the ter- minal’s holes, then release the tabs.
Fully extend and position the FM an- tenna for the best reception.
