Shooting Suited to Scenes (Scene Mode)

kClose-up

Photograph flowers, insects, and other small objects at close range.

Macro mode (A33) is enabled and the camera automatically zooms to the closest position at which it can focus.

The closest distance at which the camera can focus varies depending on the zoom position.

The camera can focus on subjects as close as 3 cm (1.2 in.) to the lens when the zoom indicator is positioned to the left of G, and Fand the zoom indicator glow green. When the zoom indicator is aligned with G, the camera can focus at a distance of 4 cm (1.6 in.).

AF area mode is set to Manual (A45). Choose the focus area in which the camera focuses. Press the kbutton and then rotate the rotary multi selector, or press H, I, J, or K, to select a different focus area. Press the kbutton again to lock the selected focus area. Flash mode and exposure compensation settings can be adjusted and the self-timer can be enabled while the focus area is locked.

The camera focuses continuously until focus is locked by pressing the shutter-release button halfway.

As pictures are easily affected by camera shake, be sure that Vibration reduction (A129) is enabled and hold the camera steadily.
