Troubleshooting (Advanced)
Refer to the following instructions when a problem occurs. If the remedies indi cated in the chart do not solve the problem,
contact Panasonic Technical Support. For a software problem, refer to the instruction manual of the software.
• To check the computer’s usage s tatus (Î page 76).

Shut Down

Cannot shut down or restart Windows. zRemove USB devices.
zIt may take 1 or 2 minutes to shut down.

Standby or Hibernation

Cannot enter standby or hibernation. zRemove USB devices temporarily. If the problem persists, restart the computer.
zIt may take 1 or 2 minutes to enter standby or hibernation.
zThe computer does not enter standby or hibernation immediately after
resuming. Wait approximately 1 minute.
Cannot enter standby or hibernation
automatically.
zDisconnect peripheral devices.
zIf you connect to a network using wireless LAN function, select the profile an d
connect to the access point (Î page 50).
zIf you do not use wireless LAN function, turn off wireless LAN function (Î page
46). If you use wireless LAN function, refer to “To enter sleep on hibernation”
(Î page 16) to enter sleep on hibernation.
zMake sure that you are not using any software that regularly acces ses the hard
disk. Check that the software which constantly access to the hard disk or place
burden on CPU are not used.

Sound

No sound. zClick or on the notification area and change the volume.
zRestart the computer.
Distorted sound. zStop and restart playback.
"There was an error updating the reg-
istry" appears when Sound Recorder
is started.
zSound Recorder is started by a limited account user whose language setting is
not the same as the administrator user who last started Sound Recorder. This
does not affect the operation.

Keyboard

Cannot enter special characters (ß, à,
ç, etc.) and symbols.
zUse the character map. Click [start] - [All Programs] - [Accessories] - [System
Tools] - [Character Map].
