This is a technique for setting the focus and
the exposure in advance when the subject
is outside the focus area or when the
contrast is too sharp and the appropriate
exposure cannot be achieved.
∫When [AF] is selected
(Fixing the focus only)
1Aim the AF area at the subject.
2Press [AF/AE LOCK] to fix the focus.
•Press [AF/AE LOCK] again to cancel
it.
•The AF lock indication [ ] lights
when the subject is focused.
3Move the camera to compose the
picture and then press the shutter fully.

•The AF/AE lock function canno t be used
in the intelligent auto mode [ ],
advanced scene mode or scene mode.
•The AE lock function cannot be used in
the Manual exposure mode, advanced
scene mode or scene mode.
