Screen Saver Function

≥When this is set to “On”:
If there is no operation for 10 minutes or more, Di rect
Navigator screen switche s to HOME menu automatic ally.
≥While playing and pa using, etc., this fu nction is not
available.
≥As for Music [CD-DA] or MP3 , regardless of the sett ing, if
there is no operatio n for a while, Dir ect Navigator scree n
switches to the other states automatically.
Front Panel Displa y
Changes the bright ness of the unit ’s display.
≥If “Auto” is selec ted the display is dimmed during pla yback
and bright not dur ing playback.

3D Settings
Press [OK] to show the following settings:
TV Aspect
Set to match the type of tele vision connected.
When connected to a 4:3 aspect television and playing 16:9
ratio image:
When connected to a 16:9 w idescreen television and

HDMI Connection
Press [OK] to show the following settings:

Select the format of the connected TV.
≥Change the settings for 3 D on the TV also when
“Checker board” or “Sid e by side” is selected.
3D Playback Precautions

4:3 Pan &
Scan
The sides are cut off so

When playing BD-Vid eo,

16:9 Video is displayed as a 4:3 ra tio image in the
center of the screen.
16:9 Full Video is di splayed as a horiz ontally
stretched 16:9 image.
HDMI Resolution
The items supporte d by the connecte d devices are
indicated on the s cree n as “¢”. When any item without “¢”
is selected, the images may be distorted.
≥If “Auto” is selected, au tomatically selects th e output
resolution best s uited to the conn ected television .
≥To enjoy high-definition video up-converted to 1080p,
you need to connec t the unit directly to 1080p
compatible HDTV (High De fi nit io n Television). If th is u nit
is connected to an HDTV through other equipment, it
must also be 1080p compatible.
24p Output
When this unit is conn ected to a TV supporting 1080/24p
output using an HDMI cable, movies and other material
recorded at 24p are out put at 24p.
≥When playing DVD-Vide o, set to “On” and then s et “24p”
in “Video” (28) to “On”.
≥When BD-Video images other than 24p are played,
images are output at 60p.
≥24p :
A progressive ima ge recorded at a rate of 24 frames per
second (motion-pi cture film). Many BD-Video movie
contents are recorded in 24 frames/second in
accordance with the film materials.
HDMI Color Mode
This setting is for selecting color-space conversion of the
image signal when the unit is connect ed using an HDMI
cable.
