Error messages
If the unit detects a problem, one of the following messages is shown on the display.
Display message Cause/solution
Busy LThe called unit is in use.
LThe line you tried to join is not set to accept other units
(page 14, 18).
L3 lines are already being used. Wait until C changes to
l (page 9).
LOther units are in use and the system is busy even though
l is displayed. Try again later.
LThe handset you are using is too far from the base unit.
Move closer and try again.
LThe line is in use. You can check the status of the line
(page 10).
Error!! LOther units are in use and the system is busy. Try again
later.
Failed LPhonebook copy failed (page 25). Confirm the other unit
(the receiver) is in standby mode and try again.
Incomplete LPhonebook copy is incomplete. The receiver’s phonebook
memory is full. Erase unnecessary phonebook entries
(page 21, 24) from the other unit (the receiver) and try
again.
Invalid LThe unit does not have a registered line. Contact your
administrator.
LThe handset you paged from the base unit is not
registered (KX-TGP550 only).
LIf the STATUS indicator still does not light in green, see
“STATUS indicator”, page 53.
Memory full LThe phonebook memory is full. Erase unnecessary
entries (page 21, 24).
LThe call block list memory is full. Erase unnecessary
entries (page 31, 38).
No link to base. Reconnect
main base AC adaptor.
LThe handset has lost communication with the base unit.
Move closer to the base unit and try again.
LUnplug the base unit’s AC adaptor to reset the unit.
Reconnect the adaptor and try again.
LThe handset’s registration may have been canceled. Re-
register the handset (page 41).
Plug Ethernet cable. LThe supplied Ethernet cable has not been connected yet
or not connected properly. Check the connections. Refer
to the Quick Guide for details. If the STATUS indicator still
does not light in green, see “STATUS indicator”, page 53.
Use rechargeable battery. LA wrong type of battery such as Alkaline or Manganese
was inserted. Use only the rechargeable Ni-MH batteries
noted on page 5.
