Intended Use4
The sprayer is intend ed for use in sp raying agricultural pest icides and othe r non-
flammable li quids.
SPRAYIN G PESTICIDES:
Pesticide s are hazardous chemicals that must be handled with cautio n as directed
through out this manu al an d on the p estic ide labe l. Pes tic ides are regu lated by the United
States Environmental Prote c t ion Agenc y (EPA) and defined as:
Any sub s t a n ce o r mi xture o f s u bst ances i n t en d ed f or pr even t i n g , d es t r o yi n g , repelling, or mitigating any
pest. Though often misunderstood to refer only to insecticides, the term pesticide is a comprehensive
term that applies to insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and various other substances used to control
pests.
The spr a yer is intended for use in spraying pestici de s in liquid form only. The sprayer is
NOT i nte nded for use in sprayi ng pesticide s in dry or aerosoliz e d form, or for use with
fumigants.
Some formulat ions of liquid pesticides do not r e main in solution and s hould be agi tated
to maint ain a u niform mix. This sprayer is equippe d with a n agitator that s hou ld be used
when spraying pestici des classified as “flowable” ( “F” or “L”) , “wettable powder” ( “WP”
or “W”), “em ulsion” (“EC” or “E”), “mi croencapsulated” (“M”), or w ater dispersible
granules (“WDG” or “DF”). (See pesticide label to determine i ts clas si fication.)
This sprayer com e s equipped with a spot spr a y gun for applying pesticides on se lected
plants. If you wi sh to spra y large ground areas, a br oad cas t bo om (Item #27 3011) is
available as an op tional acces s or y.
SPRAYIN G OTHER LIQUIDS :
In addi t ion to spraying pesticides, this sprayer may be used to spr ay ot he r non-fl a mm a ble
li quids. Example uses i nc lude: watering plants/trees or spraying w a t e r for dust control,
applying ice control c he micals, or appl ying wat e r-based, non-flamma ble sealant or st a in
to out door wood surfaces.
Howev er, WE RECOMMEND THAT THE SPRAYER NOT BE USED FOR
OTHER P URPOS ES ONCE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN US ED FOR S PRAYI NG
PEST ICID ES . Any chemical will leave some residual in the tank liner or sprayer
component s, e ven af t e r the sprayer has been properly cleaned. These residual chemicals
can have unexpected effect s on future uses. For example, spraying wat e r or other liquids
that are contaminated wi th resi dual pesticide may result in unfore seen hazards to pla nt or
animal life.
