(c)SQ: Indicates or selects the SQUELCH level: Squelch is a control that will not allow the audio signal to turn on before the RF signal reaches a certain strength. Too low of a squelch level will allow a noisy audio signal to pass. Too high of a level will cause the audio signal to become choppy and intermittent. The Squelch level is adjustable from 01 - 99. The higher the value, the lower the sensitivity.
