Set the ring delay
You can set the number of times t he phone
rings before the ans wering machine picks u p
the call.
1 Press menu .
2 Selec t [ANSWER MACHINE] >
[SETTINGS] > [RING DEL AY], then
press [SELECT] to conr m.
3 Selec t a new setting, then pr ess
[SELECT] to conrm.

Ensure that the an swering machine is s witched •
on before this featu re can be applied.
Tip
When you access the an swering machine •
remotely, you are re commended to set the
ring delay to [ECONOMY ] mode. This is a
cost effective w ay to manage your messag es.
When there are n ew messages, the an swering
machine picks up t he call after 3 ring s; When
there is no messag es, it picks up the c all after
5 rings.
Remote access
You can operate your answer ing machine
when you are away from ho me. Simply make
a call to your phone with a t ouch tone phone
and enter your 4-d igit PIN code.
Note
The remote access PI N code is the same as •
your system PIN . The preset PIN is 0 000.
Activate/deactivate the remote access
You can allow or block remote access t o the
answering machin e.
1 Press menu .
From the handset
1 Press during messa ge playback to
enter the options me nu.
2 Selec t [DELETE], then press [SELEC T]
to conrm.
The current message is deleted. »
Delete all old incoming messages
From the base
1 Press an d hold in s tandby mode.
All old messages are permanently »
deleted.
From the handset
1 Press menu on t he handset.
2 Selec t [ANSWER MACHINE] >
[DELETE ALL], then pr ess [SELECT] to
conrm.
The handset displays a conrmation »
request.
3 Press [O K] to conrm.
All old messages are permanently »
deleted.
Note
You can delete the read me ssages only. No •
deleted message s can be recovered.
Call screening
You can hear the caller while h e is leaving a
message. Then you ca n decide whether or not
to talk to the caller di rectly.
From the base
Press / to adjust t he speaker volume
during call scree ning. The lowest volume leve l
turns off the call s creening.
