Adjusting initial settings

Usingthe initial settings, you can customize
varioussystem settings to achieve optimal per-
formancefrom this unit.
1 PressSRC/OFF and hold until the unit
turnsoff.
2 PressMULTI-CONTROL and hold until
theinitial setting menu appears in the dis-
play.
3 TurnMULTI-CONTROL to select one of
theinitial settings.

Usethe following instructions to operate each
particularsetting.
Notes
!Youcan also select the function by pressing
FUNCTIONon the remote control.
!Toreturn to the previous display, press
DISP/BACK/SCRL.
!Tocancel initial settings, press BAND/ESC.
!WhenV.OUT is set to ON, you cannot switch
toSCROLL and TITLE.
!Whenthe multi-channel processor (DEQ-
P6600)is connected to this unit, you can oper-
ateDIGITALATT and RESET.

Setting the FM tuning step

Normallythe FM tuning step employed by
seektuning is 50 kHz. When AF or TA is on,
thetuning step automatically changes to 100
kHz.It may be preferable to set the tuning step
to50 kHz when AF is on.
!Thetuning step remains at 50 kHz during
manualtuning.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select FM STEP
inthe initial setting menu.

2 PressMULTI-CONTROL to display the
settingmode.
#PressDISP/BACK/SCRL to return to the pre-
viousdisplay.
3 TurnMULTI-CONTROL to select the FM
tuningstep.
TurningMULTI-CONTROL will switch the FM
tuningstep between 50 kHz and 100 kHz. The
selectedFM tuning step will appear in the dis-
play.
#Youcan also perform the same operations by
pressingaor b.
4 PressMULTI-CONTROL to determine
theselection.
#Evenif the menu has been canceled before
determination,operation is settled.

Switching Auto PI Seek

Theunit can automatically search for a differ-
entstation with the same programming, even
duringpreset recall.
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select AUTO-PI
inthe initial setting menu.

2 PressMULTI-CONTROL to turn Auto PI
seekon.
#Toturn Auto PI seek off, press
MULTI-CONTROLagain.

Switching the auxiliary setting

Auxiliarydevices connected to this unit canbe
activatedindividually. Set each AUX source to
ONwhen using. For more information about
connectingor using auxiliary devices, refer to
Usingthe AUX source on page 49.
