Setting Menu

• Settings in bold are the factory defaults.

Video Settings

1 Select the desired picture quality settings.

Use the / buttons to select, then press the ENTER button. The screen switches to the selected setting.

Standard (default) – Setting upon purchase. When this is selected, the detailed settings cannot be changed.

Memory 1 to 3 – Video settings can be adjusted and saved here. Detailed Settings? is displayed. Select YES then press the ENTER button. For a description of the setting items, see below.

Settings

Description

Recall Settings

Calls out the video settings set at Memory 1, 2 or 3.

 

 

Noise Reduction

Reduces the noise of the brightness (Y) and color (C) signals.

 

 

MNR Mode

Reduces the mosquito noise (distortion generated in the contours of the picture during MPEG

compression) in the picture.

 

 

 

ACE Level

Enhances the contrast in the dark areas.

 

 

Edge Level

Adjusts the image’s contours.

 

 

ICR Mode

Expresses a specific color (blue or green) more vividly.

 

 

Brightness1

Adjusts the picture’s brightness.

Contrast1

Adjusts the ratio of the brightness between the brightest and darkest parts of the picture.

Sharpness

Adjusts the sharpness of the picture.

 

 

Hue1

Adjusts the balance between the green and red.

Black Setup

Corrects for excessively strong black in the brightness signal. If the black is too weak due to the

combination with the connected display, select 7.5 IRE.

 

 

 

1. This setting does not affect the VIDEO OUT terminal’s output.

Note

When the DISPLAY button is pressed while the detailed settings are displayed, the display switches between one item and all items each time the DISPLAY button is pressed. In the single item display mode, the settings can be made while checking the picture being played.

When the video output resolution is set to 1920 x 1080p, 3D or Flesh Tone can be selected at Noise Reduction, but the noise reduction function does not actually work. The noise reduction function will work if the output resolution is switched to something other than 1920 x 1080p.
