OwnIndex

De Polar Fitness Test leidt tot een waarde die OwnIndex wordt genoemd. Dit is een waarde die vergelijkbaar is met de maximale zuurstofopname (VO2max) en die vaak wordt gebruikt voor het bepalen van de aërobe (cardiovasculaire) conditie. Uw lichamelijke activiteitenniveau op lange termijn, hartslag, hartslagvariatie in rust, geslacht, leeftijd, lichaamslengte en gewicht zijn allemaal van invloed op de OwnIndex.

Met de OwnIndex kunt u de ontwikkeling van uw conditie over een langere tijdsperiode volgen. Wanneer uw doel het verbeteren van de aërobe conditie is, kan in gemiddeld 6 weken een duidelijke verandering in OwnIndex worden waargenomen. Minder fi tte personen kunnen sneller vooruitgang bemerken, terwijl fi ttere personen meer tijd nodig hebben. Hoe beter uw aërobe conditie, hoe kleiner de verbeteringen in de OwnIndex.

Om uw conditiepeil te volgen, moet u tijdens de eerste twee weken een aantal keren uw OwnIndex meten om een betrouwbare basiswaarde te krijgen. Hierna herhaalt u de test ongeveer eenmaal per maand.

Predicted Maximum Heart Rate (Verwachte maximale hartslag, HFmax-p)

De HFmax-p wordt ook berekend tijdens de Polar Fitness Test. De HFmax-p-score voorspelt uw persoonlijke maximale hartslag nauwkeuriger dan de leeftijdsgebaseerde formule (220 min de leeftijd).
