PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)

Engine difficult to start

1. Out of fuel

1. Add fresh fuel.

Throttle in Stop Position

Move Throttle to Start position.

 

3.

Engine not primed

3.

Press Primer bulb 3 times, waiting 2

Engine Flooded

Engine Overheats

Remove debris from recoil starter cover

Engine will not stop

Inspect lever and wire. Replace if necessary.

Poor Trimming performance

1. Trimmer line is too short

Replace with correct length trimmer line

Engine not at full throttle

(22 inches).

Move throttle lever to FAST position.

Trimmer head does not retain line

1. Trimmer line not properly attached

Use a 0.155 in. (4 mm) trimmer line.

Trimmer line too brittle

Use a trimmer line that has been soaking

 

 

 

in water.
