Manual Focus

Under certain conditions, such as those listed, you may need to focus manually.

1.Make sure the scene select AE dial is not set to AUTO.

2.Slide the power zoom lever toward T to zoom in on your subject. To maintain proper focus throughout the zoom range, you must zoom in on the subject before adjusting the focus.

3.Press MODE until FOCUS appears beside the F1 button in the display panel. F1 FOCUS appears in the viewfinder.

4.Press and hold F1 while sliding the power zoom lever toward T or W to display a clear picture in the center of the viewfinder.

For slow focusing, slide the power zoom lever a small amount. For fast focusing, slide the lever all the way up or down.

The indicators appear in the viewfinder. The 5 or 6 indicator will flash. When the focus cannot be

adjusted any farther, the indicator will flash. When the focus cannot be

adjusted any closer, the

indicator

will flash.

5. Release the power zoom button to lock in the manual focus. The indicators appear in the viewfinder.
